Best Superfoods For Men

Hey there, viewers!

Your diet has a direct impact on your physical and mental health. Eating the right foods ensure you live a healthy and happy life.   Too much junk food will have your health declining sooner or later. Not only is eating healthy foods is important, you also need to make sure you are eating food  your body needs. And these needs can be gender specific, as men and women have different needs. In today’s video, we’ll be talking about 11 superfoods men should eat.   From turkey sandwiches increasing fertility rates, to muscle building black beans, we’ll be talking about all of these AND more.

1.      Almonds

You can love almonds or despise them. But if you want to include one of the best   superfoods in your daily diet, you have to try these nuts! Almonds are   loaded with important nutrients. You can’t afford to ignore them. Almonds give you fiber, protein, antioxidants, and Vitamin E.   People argue that they’re filled with calories and unsaturated fats.   It’s partly true. Almonds do give you 82 calories for every half ounce of serving. But that’s NOT the whole truth. Research suggests your body finds it hard to absorb   calories from nuts. This is because they’re hard to digest. As a result, you don’t get all the   calories. This means you don’t have to worry about gaining weight if you add almonds to your diet. Just a word of caution, this doesn’t mean you start binge eating almonds,   raw or roasted. Calories can quickly add up if you’re not careful. Another study showed eating almonds reduces your chances of heart disease and also   increases your body’s ability to remove extra cholesterol. So go snack on almonds. Raw or roasted, the choice is yours. Just make sure you   aren’t eating them fried, or with too many sweets. That certainly beats their purpose. Do you love eating almonds? 2.      Turkey Breast

Love roasted turkey? I do too! Sneak it into your daily diet. Turkey breast   isn’t just delicious. It's also super healthy for you, thanks to all the nutrients. One ounce of Turkey meat comes with 7 grams of protein,   which is key in building your muscles. Three ounces of turkey meat has just 72 calories. More importantly though, this superfood is rich in B vitamins. Turkey is high in zinc, which improves   your sperm production. It also has selenium, which is key in fighting against cancer cells.   I don’t know about you. But I’m certainly craving a turkey sandwich all of a sudden.

3.      Quinoa

Quinoa has become extremely popular. It’s a part of the daily diet for most health-conscious   people. Compared to your traditional cereals, quinoa has more nutritional value.   It also has a balanced mix of vitamins, protein and fat. This superfood offers you the highest amount of protein in comparison to other grains. Quinoa   has a mild flavour, making it the perfect choice for those who aren’t keen on eating whole grains. The best thing I love about Quinoa is that it’s rich in fiber and B vitamins.   You’ll also get healthy unsaturated fats, which are good for your heart.   You can start with trying quinoa porridge for breakfast. It tastes great!

4.      Olive oil

Which oil do you use the most in your kitchen? Seed oils? Vegetable? How about butter and lard? This question is important because the answer determines how healthy you are,   and how healthy you’ll be in the future! Butter and lard have unsaturated fat, which can increase your risk of heart   disease. Healthy oils like olive oil, on the other hand, have monounsaturated fat,   which has the opposite effect on your heart’s health. Olive oil keeps your heart healthy! There are other benefits of adding olive oil to your diet. Research shows it has anti-inflammatory   properties and can reduce pain and swelling the same way pharmaceutical drugs can. You can either cook your meals with olive oil,   or use it as salad dressing. You can also add one or two tablespoons to your protein shake.

5.      Green Tea

I don’t need to introduce you to green tea. It’s already widely popular,   thanks to all the health benefits it carries.   It’s known to help cut down fat deposits in your body and reduce your weight. Most people   on a weight-reduction regimen make sure they drink one or two cups of green tea every day. Green tea also has properties that can prevent cancer and slow down the development   of Alzheimer’s. You can safely drink one to three cups a day to reap the benefits. 6.      Black beans

Don’t like green tea and quinoa? No worries! There’s another superfood for   you. And it’s delicious if you make it right! We’re talking about black beans. Black beans are loaded with fiber, which makes them excellent for your digestive health. The best   part is that they have complex carbs instead of simple ones. This means they won’t cause   blood sugar spikes in your body. Something that will otherwise give you intense cravings later. When you eat black beans, they expand in your stomach and make you feel full.   As a result, you feel satiated and won’t overeat during your meals. Your body also takes a longer time to convert calories from black beans into energy,   which means you won’t feel the need to eat between meal times. They have protein similar to meat, but come with the added benefit of not having saturated fat.   So maybe the next time you’re preparing fresh salad, throw in some black beans.   Or make black beans and rice for your next meal!

7.      Eggs

Most people already have eggs as a part of their daily breakfast and for good reasons.   Every egg comes with 4 grams of amino acids, which are key in building muscle. Eggs are also rich in a particular vitamin called choline (co-lean), which is known to help boost   your memory. While choline is produced in your liver, that’s far less than what your   body needs. Eggs are one of the superfoods which can help boost the choline content in your body. Besides this, eggs taste delicious. I mean who can resist the temptation of   a fluffy mushroom and spinach omelet? Certainly, not me!

8.      Milk

Most people drink milk in one form or the other. You probably have it   with your cereal, or with your coffee and tea. Milk is rich in calcium. When you don’t drink enough, your body releases a hormone that retains   calcium in your cells to compensate. If left unchecked, you could end up with too much calcium   in your cells. This could become problematic as your body may not be able to flush out the excess. Along with the calcium, the hormones also cause your cells to store fat. Milk can, in fact,   slow down the storage of fat in your body. Still looking for excuses to not drink milk?

9.      Beef

Love steaks? Here’s the good news.   Beef is another food with amino acids your body needs to strengthen your muscles.   This meat is rich in selenium, iron, and zinc, which boosts your circulatory health. Even if you   eat just three ounces of meat a day, your body gets over 10% of the daily nutrients it needs. Beef is normally classified as rich in fat,   but it has become 20% leaner than what it was 10 years ago. Even then,   it’s best to keep an eye on how much you eat. Three ounces of beef gives you 163 calories.

10.   Soy

Soy is the perfect superfood, and is present in vegetarian diets as a replacement for meat.  When you eat soy, you get all the goodness of meat, whole grain,   fruits and veggies. All the protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals can be gotten from soy. Soy is known to lower your risk of heart disease, a protect you against age-related diseases.

11.   Yogurt

If you dislike drinking milk, go for yogurt. It has all the benefits of milk plus extra   nutrition in the form of live culture. Live culture is a collection of good gut bacteria   that boosts your digestive health. It will help keep your digestive system clear of all toxins.   You’ll also find yourself having regular bowel movements when you eat it on the regular. Superfoods are just one part of your fitness regimen. If you want to live a healthy life,   you also need to know what’s happening with your body.
